Network of Contacts, ebook cover

I pick up dtr's words. General de Infojobs, Jaume Gurt, that help you understand the new context:

Today the revolution in the world of employment is here. Social and technological changes, concentrated in recent years, have affected and will forever change the employment ecosystem and the labour market.

  • The rise of social media
  • The explosive growth of smartphones and mobile devices
  • The sharing economy
  • The economic crisis left by Spain with an unemployment rate of the 22%

Four data better illustrate how these changes have affected the world of employment:

  • In Spain there are more than 17 millions of people who use some social network
  • More than 50% people who visit InfoJobs do so from a mobile device
  • In September 2008 there were in InfoJobs 80.000 active job openings. The crisis lowered this figure to 27.000

The combination of these factors has led to a major change in people's habits, looking for greater relationship capacity, ubiquity and immediacy. To a large extent, social media has come to meet this demand with new spaces, new forms of communication, relationships and opportunity for personal projection.

Job search is a social activity. Social media offers possibilities, not just for those actively seeking employment, but also for those who are open to new opportunities, those who want to develop, those who want to experiment and those who want to grow in reputation or personal brand.

In this context, the Network of Contacts opens up a world of infinite possibilities so broad that, without good guidance and no tips for beginners and advanced, it can be very easy to get lost and not get the most out of it that opens up before our eyes.

Learn how to build a network of contacts from scratch; how to use it well; how to project our personal and professional profile; how to make the most of it; how to orient our actions to the objectives we have set ourselves; and how to optimize the time we spend, it's just a part of what you'll find in this book.
